Youth-N-Action, Inc. was founded in 1995 by Darryl Mayes in Montgomery, Alabama, with a clear mission: to steer at-risk youth toward a positive and productive future. What began as a grassroots effort to provide guidance, mentorship, and structure for local youth has grown into one of Montgomery’s most impactful community-based youth development organizations.
For over 30 years, Youth-N-Action has empowered young people by combining mentorship, athletics, leadership training, educational tools and character development. The organization officially became a recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit on June 20, 2016, allowing it to expand its services and reach even more youth across the region.
Today, Youth-N-Action serves youth ages 6 through 24, providing year-round programs that promote academic success, athletic excellence, and personal growth. The organization also partners with middle school and high school athletic teams throughout Montgomery to support student-athletes both on and off the field.
Rooted in community and driven by purpose, Youth-N-Action continues to build positive pathways for youth and student-athletes, ensuring they have the support, opportunities, and mentorship needed to succeed in life.
